Terms & Conditions

Parental Consent and Involvement Policy:
We require written consent from parents or legal guardians before commencing in-person and/or online psychotherapy sessions with children and young people. Parents are always encouraged to be actively involved in their child's therapeutic journey, including discussing the therapy process, setting expectations, and reviewing progress regularly.

Parental Supervision Policy:

We emphasise the importance of parental supervision at all times when children are on the therapy premises. Parents are responsible for supervising their child's behaviour and ensuring their safety. This includes accompanying children to and from the therapy room and being available to address any needs that may arise during the session.

Limitations:

We strive to create a therapeutic environment that is both sensory-soothing , safe and sanitary. However, due to space limitations and the need to maintain a clean environment for all clients, some sensory strategies may not be practical to attend to in the space which we currently have available to us. We are committed to finding compassionate alternatives to ensure every child's needs are met within our capabilities.

Emergency Contact Information:
Parents must provide up-to-date emergency contact information, GP details including their own contact details and those of any other relevant individuals. This information will be used in case of any safety concerns or emergencies during online sessions.

Online Safety Guidelines for Parents:
Parents are advised to ensure that their child's online therapy sessions are conducted in a safe and private space, free from distractions and interruptions. Parents should also monitor their child's internet use and educate them about online safety and privacy.

Safeguarding and Protection Policy:
We adhere to the UKCP Safeguarding Protocol, which outlines our responsibilities in protecting children and vulnerable adults. This includes conducting sessions in a safe and secure online environment, maintaining confidentiality, and reporting any concerns to the appropriate authorities.

Expectations:

While we strive to create a supportive and safe therapeutic environment, it is not within the psychotherapist's remit to manage violence from children or other family members that may be exhibited in the therapy room. Parents are expected to draw on the resources of the therapist if required so that the parent can promptly address such issues. In the event that violence cannot be managed in the therapy space, the session may be brought to an immediate close. This is to provide parents and psychotherapist the time to work collaboratively together to review and devise safety plans to move forwards with compassion and care.

Safety and Security Measures:

Our therapy premises are equipped with safety and security measures to ensure a secure environment for everyone. However, we expect that as parents know their own children best, parents will be vigilant about circumstances which might be a particular risk for their child and take responsibility for their child's actions and safety at all times.

Frequent & Open Communication Policy:

We encourage frequent & open communication between parents and psychotherapists regarding any concerns or expectations related to their child's health, well-being, behaviour and safety. We would like parents to feel free to discuss any specific needs or concerns before and during the therapeutic process. Should the need to think together arise either pre-session or post session, parents are welcome to book for a scheduled appointment. These appointments will be charged at our set consultation fee.

Feedback and Complaints Procedure:

Parents are encouraged to provide feedback on their child's therapy experience. In the event of any concerns or complaints, we have a clear and accessible procedure for addressing these issues promptly and fairly.

Emergency Procedures:

In the event of an emergency or safety concern, parents are responsible for taking immediate action. Our therapy premises have clear emergency procedures in place, and parents will be briefed on these during their initial visit.

Collaborative Approach:

We believe in a collaborative approach to therapy, where parents play a vital role in supporting their child's therapeutic journey. This includes being actively involved in monitoring and addressing their child's behavior and safety needs.

Prepayment Policy:

To ensure a smooth and secure booking process, we kindly request that all sessions be prepaid at least 24 hours in advance. This helps us maintain a respectful and organized environment for all our clients.

Reimbursement Policy:

In the unlikely event that your psychotherapist falls ill or encounters an emergency, we understand the inconvenience this may cause. Rest assured, we will reimburse your payment within 24 hours of the missed session. Your well-being and understanding are greatly appreciated.

Payment Refund Assurance:

Please be assured that if your session is canceled due to your psychotherapist's illness or emergency, we will refund your payment within 24 hours. Your financial security and therapeutic continuity are important to us.

Session Guidelines:

To create a safe and supportive therapeutic space, we kindly ask all clients to adhere to our policy of no violence, suggestive behaviors, abuse, or antisocial conduct. This applies to both in-person and online sessions. Your commitment to this policy helps ensure a respectful and productive therapeutic process.

Consequences of Violation:

Your safety and the safety of others are paramount. Should there be any violation of our policies or evidence of suggestive behaviors, abuse, antisocial conduct or violence, we may need to reassess the therapeutic relationship. We will address any concerns with sensitivity and professionalism.
