About Us

At Neurohavens, we recognise and celebrate the diversity of neurological differences. Some of these include Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia and sensory processing sensitives. We work creatively & compassionately using systemic ideas to support better understanding, improve strategies for maximising success with social and emotional difficulties which may be affecting daily lives. We privilege affirmative interventions to increase inclusiveness, self-advocacy and empowerment.

Individuals who are neurodivergent can often find that dips in mental health can occur without having the right coping strategies and support in place. Depression, anxiety, trauma and burn out can be some of the common difficulties disproportionately affecting lives which are touched by neurodiversity. Often this is due to the effects of ableism, marginalisation and/or other forms of discrimination and abuse. This is why at Neurohavens, we provide trauma-informed care within a Neuro-Affirming framework that draws on systemic ideas.

Principles & Values
Neurohavens embraces a systemic approach. This means that throughout our journey together,  we have an ethical duty to consider the effects of culture, societal influences and how these contextual factors influence family dynamics and individual behaviour.
As a neuro-affirmative service, we focus on the strengths and resiliences of neurodivergent individuals rather than solely on their challenges.

Individualized Care

We recognize that what works for one individual family or work unit may not work for others. We work collaboratively with all of our clients to increase our chances of tailoring interventions to meet you where you are at.

We are excited about having the opportunity to offer our clients a safe, confidential and contained space which has multi functional sensory resources to maximise comfort and relaxation.

While Neurohavens has a keen focus on support for families facing neurodiverse diagnoses, we currently operate within the realm of talk therapy. As such, we must respectfully acknowledge that our services are optimised for addressing the emotional, relational, and educational aspects of neurodiversity. For complex neurodiversity issues that may require a multidisciplinary approach, including medical or behavioural interventions, we may not be the ideal fit at this time. However, we are committed to offering the highest level of care within our scope and are continually exploring ways to expand our services to better meet the diverse needs of our clients.
