Our Approach

At NeuroHavens, we celebrate neuroequity for every client, diverging from traditional neuro-affirmative interventions with our unique approach. Thank you for choosing our psychotherapy services. We are committed to providing a supportive and understanding environment for all our clients.

Neurodiversity and Equity: We champion neurodiversity, recognising the value of diverse neurotypes and addressing systemic issues that lead to misunderstanding and mistreatment.

Our theoretical Approach:
We use a systemic and family therapy framework which is underpinned by collaborative ways of assisting you. This means working together with you to understand your concerns within the context of your social and relational world. This approach recognises that your issues are influenced by your interactions with others and societal factors. We'll explore these contexts, challenge common beliefs, and empower you to redefine your problems and solutions all whilst aiming to bolster your strength and resilience.

Holistic Therapeutic Approaches: Our experience in public services and psychology allows us to tailor methods to each individual's unique needs, beyond standardised interventions. We use evidence-based practices that have been shown to be effective in attending to a range of difficulties faced by individuals living with neurodivergence.  Our goal is to help you develop strategies to manage the stresses and strains of not always feeling understood and accepted in ableist settings and to help you with improving your quality of life.

Cultural Humility and Inclusivity: Our founder's diverse experience ensures we relate to clients from all backgrounds, from CEOs to toddlers, with warmth and respect.

Empowerment and Support: We affirm strengths and support unique needs, combating unconscious ableism to create equitable environments.

Systemic Advocacy: Our work goes beyond individual therapy, advocating for systemic changes that promote neurodiversity and equity.

NeuroHavens is dedicated to a comprehensive, inclusive, and empowering approach, fostering a supportive environment for all neurotypes.

What we mean by Collaboration:
We believe in a collaborative approach to therapy, where parents play a vital role in supporting their child's therapeutic journey. This includes being actively involved in monitoring and addressing their child's behaviour and safety needs.

Confidentiality:
Your privacy is of utmost importance to us. All information shared during sessions will be kept confidential, except in cases where there is a legal obligation to disclose or where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others. Please visit our Privacy Policy page for more details.

Your Role in Therapy:
Your active participation is crucial to the success of therapy. We encourage you to share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences openly. It is also important to communicate any concerns or adjustments you may need to make the therapy more effective for you.

Safety and Support:
If at any point you feel that the therapy is not helping or if you experience any distress, please let us know. We are here to support you and can make adjustments or refer you to other services as needed.

Continuous Learning:
We are committed to staying updated with the latest research and best practices. Your feedback will help us to continuously improve our services to better meet your needs.

Thank You:
Thank you for entrusting us with your care. We look forward to supporting you on your journey towards improved health and  more fulfilling relationships.
